Every Christian has this question on their mind “What is the purpose of marriage, based on the Bible?” After all, everyone wants to have a good marriage, while ensuring they remain faithful to the Lord. God made these four purposes for every marriage so that you know where to take your relationship:
Become one with God
The ultimate aim of every marriage is to become one with your spouse and God so that your relationship can flourish. You can achieve this by understanding that God has a unique plan for you, which is why he brought you and your spouse together.
You must believe in God’s will so that you can use encouragement, unity, and cooperation to improve the bond in your marriage. From Ephesians 6:12, it is clear that your struggle in this world isn’t against your spouse. It is the battle against Satan, who tries to separate you from your spouse, by making it look like your significant other is the problem. Instead, you should keep your eyes on God.
Increase the size of God’s family
From Genesis 1:28, you can get another purpose that God intended for marriage, which is to bring the children of God into this planet. Once you have children, you must educate them about the teachings of God. At the same time, you should become role models for your children, by being compassionate and loving.
Reflect the image of God
According to Genesis 1:26-27, you get to know that God created human beings as a reflection of his image. As a result, you must fulfill this purpose, by being the best you can in every situation. You should spread the word of God to everyone around you so that they can bathe in his love.
To serve God
From Ephesians 2:10, it is clear that it is the purpose of you and your spouse to serve God faithfully. You and your spouse should go out of the way to help your fellow brothers and sisters. You are doing God’s work, by showing everyone there is always someone to help them.
This is great you guys. Your marriage is sure to blossom as God is Lead.
Good word people of God 💜
