Make Money Make Cents

Research shows money is one of the top five reasons for divorce. As we continue in our “Relationship Goals” series, it was obvious that we had to hit on this subject. We found a quote that was quite fitting actually.

“The main thing to remember is that most matters concerning money in a relationship are not really about the money at all!”-Anonymous

Let’s dig deeper shall we. When Marqus and I first got married this one was a big one. What it came down to was trust issues from previous relationships, failed marriages around us, and the inability to see my money turn to our money. We had to take a step back and realize that at there isn’t a my money or your money concept. It had to been seen as two sources of one income. Was it a challenge? YES! Was it easy? NO! There had to be tough yet honest conversation to get us to where we are now but it has made us so much better.

Everyone’s financial situations are different but there should be some form of foundation. This week we challenge you to use February to create a budget, determine financial goals and discuss a plan for generational wealth. Your weekly meetings would be a great time for this exercise. We pray that God reveals his plans for you in this season and are eagerly waiting to see your success.

Much Love,
